GUYANA: Postponed election prompts constitutional crisis

The day after gunmen broke into the house of agriculture minister, Satyadeow Sawh, shooting him and three others dead, President Bharrat Jagdeo gave a press conference in which he said that "all the indications are that it was politically motivated". Although the police have refused to rule out robbery as the reason behind the killings on 22 April, the political climate in the country is such that an assassination is not out of the question.
